Día de los Muertos Hafla

What: Amigos! Troupe ‘Hip’notic and Gypsy’s Monkey are excited to be co-hosting a Día de los Muertos Hafla! The Day of the Dead holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to remember friends and relatives who have died, so please join us in dance to celebrate loved ones who have passed on.
Who: This event is not open to the general public. Any dancers are welcome to perform. All dancers are welcome as audience members, as are those invited by dancers (ie. family & friends). There will be an open dance time where we encourage everyone, dancers and non-dancers to dance together in celebration. As there is the possibility of content not-suitable for children, we ask you use your own discretion in bringing your kiddies.
Fee: Entrance fee is $5 for performing dancers & $10 for everyone else. We are providing Mexican appetizers, water, soda and non-alcoholic margaritas, mojitos and sangria…bring your own ‘flavor enhancers.’
Altar: We will have a traditional Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) altar, which is used to honor the memory of someone who touched your life. Anyone who had a positive impact on your life can be the subject of a Day of the Dead altar, from a beloved pet to Mother Teresa. We encourage you to bring a photo or memorabilia of a loved one to include on the altar.

Any dance is welcome that keeps in the spirit of the holiday, from sinister to silly.
Performance slots are first come, first served so please reserve your time slot quickly.
Performance slots are 3-5mins, but if you need longer please contact me.
Dance space is ~25x40’ and has a professional dance floor.
Vending: Gypsy’s Monkey will be vending. If you would like vending space, please let me know ASAP.
